BIG NEWS!!! I'm Now Designing My Own Kits!!

I know I'm long overdue in updating my blog but there are legitimate reasons! Firstly I had to travel back to Canada to help my Mom recoop from hip replacement surgery and I'll be here for a while since she's having the other one done too! So for now, my DH and I are reduced to instant messaging again, although Skype does come in handy! LOL We met on the internet so it's like a second *home* to us anyway.

The other reason is I've been gearing up to designing my own digi kits! I've got a store open at Go Digital Scrapbooking! Here are some of the products now available in my store with loads more to come: This kit is called *Passion In Pink* and comes in a kit with 48 elements and 20 - 12" x 12" papers (8 solid and 12 patterned) all at 300 dpi. All have been Quality Control checked for blurriness, stray pixels, missing pixels, and size among other things, to ensure you get the best possible products for showcasing your precious moments! I've created matching glitter styles that come in .jpg as well as .asl format, a matching gloss style and a glitter alpha set. All are available individually or save heaps by purchasing the bundle! Last but not least I've created two gorgeous cluster frames to help you get a quick start to a lovely project!

New Layout I've Done With In My Backyard Add-on Kit by Studio 4 Designs

Just wanted to share with you another layout I did using *In My Backyard Add-on* and *Take-Two* Word Art by Studio 4 Designworks available at her store at GDS. You can have a look at the previews 2 posts down. This is an amazing bundle of kits and is so versatile!!

This is my son Dean and his wife Annie. They camped in the park in 2007 on their 1st wedding anniversary and we all went back and did the hike again in 2009. It's an amazing hike!! The journaling reads: They call the tree Cheewhat. It is the largest living Western Red cedar tree (Thuja plicata - thoo-yuh ply-kay-tuh) in Canada. Located on Vancouver Island, close to Nitinat Lake. The tree has a wood volume of nearly 450 cubic meters. Measures 64' 10" in circumference and 55.5 m/182 ft in height.. I could not see the top of this tree and had to take 4 photos to get it all. Amazing!!!!! It is approx. 3,300 years old. It is the second largest known tree of its type on the planet. The largest cedar is the Quinault Lake Cedar on the Olympic Peninsula over the Juan de Fuca Strait in WA.

I did a second layout based on the first one above with different colours for the colour challenge at GDS. I've replaced the brown with a pastel green and yellow patterned paper and pastel green background paper. I'm not sure which I like best!! lol

New Layouts I've Done AND a Freebie!!

I've done a heap of layouts that I've not shared on the blog so I thought I'd just display them and then offer up my latest freebie which I promised a few days ago. So here's the first layout - Done with Sharia Braxton's kit *Quiet Time*:

This is my friend Christine whom I went to visit in Uralla last month. We were caught up in the classic "taking a picture of you while you're taking a picture of me* poses! It ended in giggles all around! I used a blur filter on the photo to make her *pop* and not get lost in the foliage of the photo. I just love the colours in the layout!!

Next up, a layout I did for the GDS May Progressive Challenge:

This is my Mom when she was about 8 months old and then 80 years later. I used a combination of items from a kit called Forbidden Love by Holly Ann Schwartz and also a kit called Wind it Up by JJ Scrapping.

This next layout I did for another challenge at GDS. I think it's my favourite challenge! It's called *Pick Your Pallet* and we then post a 5 colour pallet and the photo we got the pallet from in the gallery and we are sent a grey scale mini kit. We then recolour the mini kit with our pallet and post it in the gallery! Such fun!! Here's mine for May:

This one I did for the Style Challenge at GDS. It features my Uncle as a baby. I used Andrea Gold's kit *Euphoria* and is available at GDS:

I just love the colours in that kit!! Next up is a layout I did for another challenge, this time it was the Scraplift Challenge at GDS and I've used a kit by Z Pink Boudoir called *Birthday Poems* and it's available at *My Life and Scrap*

My son Owen is so cute sitting on the pony! Now I have another layout I did this time for a Speed Scrap at *My Life and Scrap*. I used another kit by Z Pink Boudoir called *Blue Heart*

This one features a photo of my Mom and me at the Chinese Gardens in Sydney when she visited Australia in 2004.

Busy Week - and More to Come!!

I can't believe it's the second week in June already!! Today I have to prepare for our camera club's committee meeting - the regular club meeting is next Monday! I also have to get a photo or two out for submission! This month's theme is *spiritual* which can mean a few things in terms of taking photos. Hubby and I are going to decide which photos to use this week. (The club has a monthly contest and every month there is a different theme.)

Template Freebie

I tried my hand at making a template today under my own label and here's what I've come up with. I've included .png files as well as the .psd layered file. You can use the template as a guide and replace the elements with others or just clip them to paper, the choice is yours. I haven't added any shadows to allow you to choose your own style. Enjoy!

Lyrical Challenge at GDS

Well I just had to take on the Lyrical Challenge at GDS, so that meant a slight deviation in my plans to only scrap my Mom this month. Somehow I think I'll be forgiven :) . We were to scrap a song that help us through troubled times. I used JJ Scrapping's kit *Wind It Up* and the sketch is from a challenge on another site, but I can't recall which one. Another Layout for Mom

I've started out with two layouts posted already and here is the third I've done for the GDS Junkie Challenge. This one is at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary at the Gold Coast in Queensland. We had a great time there!

I used HollyAnn Designs' *Sorbet Garden* bundle to create the layout. It's available at the GDS store.

New Layouts for New Challenges

I've done a few more challenge layouts and it's only early in May! Here's the first one. This one is a series of photos I took of a cheeky little chipmunk (yes I spelled it wrong on the layout - the original is fixed! LOL). The little guy figured my sister's hand held more treasures than it did. We encountered him on top of Hurricane Ridge in the state of Washington, USA last summer. I used the new GDS Designers Collab kit called *A Mother's Worth* and available at the GDS store for FREE with your purchase of $10 worth of products. A REAL DEAL!! Anyway.. this layout was done for the speed scrap on May 2.

This layout I did for the colour challange. The palette was based on the kit *In Spring* by geniaBeana, available in the GDS store. Since I had the kit, I thought I may was well do a layout! The layout features my Mom when she was about 16 or 17.

This is also an awesome kit and I LOVE the colours!!

The last layout I did for the afore mentioned GDS May Collab Kit Challenge, and it features a photo of my Mom and Me when she visited in 2004.

How's your weekend going? I'm having a GREAT time, kicked off with a great Speed Chat Scrap at GDS! Here's the layout I made for that challenge featuring my son and his lovely wife:

I used two kits by Laitha (Shades of Real and A Breath of Hope) and the glitter alpha is by geniaBeana all available in the GDS store. I think it turned out pretty good.

What a busy week it's been! I've been off visiting friends all weekend and came back to a host of things needing to be done and of course I had to scrap!
